"La Nuestra CaRo" is ideally located near the beach of Salobreña (10 minutes by car); with its spectacular seaside rock ("El Peñon") and its view of the Moorish castle that dominates the town, this beach is one of the ten most beautiful in the region. It is covered with small gravel and pebbles. During the season, the most diverse nautical activities are practiced there; an artificial reef has been constructed nearby for snorkelers. In Punta Del Este (20 minutes by car) surfers and divers have found their paradise.
The town of Salobreña is home to many seaside restaurants, several supermarkets and a polyclinic. In the center, a street presents a series of small shops, a "Mercado" (daily covered market, with, in particular, local butchers and fishmongers, presenting the whole range of their fresh products) and a weekly open-air market (vegetables and some clothes).
Motril is a larger town, located less than 15 minutes by car. You will mainly find fashion or sports shops, fast food, a hypermarket and several supermarkets; a large clinic hosts emergency and hospital care in the region. A little further are the main cities: Almuñecar (30 km), Granada (70 km - all international shops and also an important, very well-known university clinic), Málaga (and its airport) at 95 km and finally Almería at 100 km. In Nerja (50 km) there is a very large shopping center that attracts customers within a radius of almost 100 km.
The Sierra Nevada ski resort is 94 km away (1h10 by car); all gliding sports are practiced from the end of November to the beginning of May. Imagine going skiing in the morning, taking a dip in the pool in the afternoon and ending the day with an aperitif in the beach restaurant?
